Movies in the Park featuring Outbreak

The Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission invites you to come to Eureka’s Sequoia Park for the third season of Movies in the Park, a series of four, free outdoor movie screenings. The feature presentation for June is Outbreak. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. with a DJ and the feature film starting at dusk, around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, at 3550 W Street in Eureka.
Outbreak, shot in Ferndale and celebrating 20 years since being released is a story of how a dangerous airborne virus threatens civilization.

After an African monkey carrying a lethal virus is smuggled into the U.S., an outbreak occurs in a California town. To control the spread of the disease, a team of doctors is brought in that includes a contagious disease expert (Dustin Hoffman) and his ex-wife (Rene Russo). Once the Army intervenes to handle the situation, though, the doctors must fight against the clock to save the town and its residents. This feature is Rated R.

The public is encouraged dress warmly and arrive starting at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy music provided by Deep Groove Society DJs and find a place on the lawn for blankets and lawn chairs. Park rules will be in effect, including no pets and no alcohol.

There will be an information table set up on site with Film Commission volunteers collecting donations and answering questions about the organization’s mission and services. Film Commission branded merchandise, organic popcorn, snacks, and refreshments will be available by donation.
